Welcome to the Sactown Bitcoiners Nostr Workshop. Bring your phone, laptop, tablet, (desktop? Sure!) and together we will all join the permissionless, decentralized, censorship-resistant communications network known as Nostr. Bitcoin is freedom money and Nostr is freedom messaging.
In this meeting you will:
• Create your account(s) and (safely) store your keys. (Not your keys, not your comms!)
• Introduce yourself to the Nostr community and follow prominent accounts and each other.
• Send and receive Zaps (micro-transactions over lightning)
• Join in on the “other stuff”, bringing your identity and social graph with you, which is the true power of Nostr.
We will also facilitate a community goods and services exchange as we start to grow our circular economy. Bring anything you’d like to sell for sats. We’ve had grass-fed beef, organic veggies, honey, jewelry, books, pesto – anything really! Get creative!
