Swiss bitcoin savings app Relai has raised $2.5 million in a new funding round that values the company at $90 million, adding prominent German-speaking finance figures Fabio Marchesin and Marc Friedrich to its investor base.
Relai initially announced the round on September 21 without disclosing the exact amount, describing it only as being in the “seven-figure range.” CEO and co-founder Julian Liniger subsequently disclosed the $2.5 million figure.

Marchesin, known online as FinanzFabio, is a Swiss finance influencer and one of Relai’s early customers. German author and financial commentator Marc Friedrich has used the platform since 2022. Both are joining as investors and advisors, with Marchesin expected to support marketing and Relai’s positioning in Switzerland and Europe, while Friedrich will advise on brand building in Germany. Existing venture capital investors also participated in the round.
“What I’m most pleased about with this round is seeing that Relai can attract significant sums from well-known investors despite the Bitcoin bear market,” Liniger said in statement. “We are building the leading Bitcoin Savings Company in Europe and hitting new growth targets, independent of current market sentiment. Users will soon see the fresh capital exactly where it counts for them: in the app. I can’t wait to announce a lot of positive changes before the year is out!”
Relai Targets European Expansion
Relai said the new funding will be used to expand its Bitcoin savings product, develop AI and cybersecurity capabilities and increase its presence across the European Union.
Other plans include the introduction of additional Bitcoin savings-plan features, with a redesigned user interface expected to be rolled-out before the end of 2026. Relai also intends to increase its visibility across the EU through its French subsidiary, Relai EU SASU, which has held a MiCA license from the French financial market authority AMF since October 2025
According to Relai, it currently has more than 100,000 users and recently passed 620,000 app downloads. Swiss customers are served by Relai AG, which operates as a financial intermediary affiliated with the VQF, a self-regulatory organization recognized by FINMA under the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
The latest financing follows a $12 million funding round announced in December 2024. Earlier rounds included a $4.5 million raise in 2023 and a CHF 2.5 million Series A in 2021. Relai also closed an undisclosed financing round in January 2024.
