The Portland BitDevs Socratic Seminar events are formatted to foster debate, information sharing, and lively discussion around Bitcoin. Inspired by other Bitdevs around the country, this is an event for those interested in discussing and participating in the research and development of Bitcoin and related protocols.
We’ll spend time discussing technical components: pull requests in the Bitcoin Core, lnd, network statistics, research papers, technical blog posts, and other relevant content.
Schedule:
6:30 – 7:00pm: Arrive, socialize, and grab some food.
7:00 – 7:30pm: Special Demo: MemPal, a Bitcoin monitoring app that allows users to effortlessly track real-time fee rates and mempool depth for smarter transaction management
7:30pm – 8:30: Join Eric and @PortlandHODL for a Socratic Seminar as they delve into the latest updates on Bitcoin & Lightning
8:30 – 9:00pm: Overtime discussions about tonight’s topics or additional user submissions.
To complete the meeting, members are free to present open-source projects, companies, research, and other relevant materials.
