Join the NWA Bitcoin Meetup for a thought-provoking book club discussion as we delve into the works of Thomas Paine, a pioneering philosopher and advocate for individual rights and freedoms. We’ll be exploring two of his most influential works: “Common Sense” and “The Rights of Man”.
About the Books:
- “Common Sense” (1776) – This pamphlet played a significant role in shaping the American Revolution, arguing for independence from Britain and establishing the principles of liberty and democracy.
- “The Rights of Man” (1791) – In this book, Paine presents a powerful case for the universal rights of humanity, challenging the authority of monarchies and advocating for the principles of equality, justice, and freedom.
As advocates for decentralized systems and individual freedom, Bitcoiners have a natural affinity with Paine’s ideas. By exploring the roots of liberty and the principles of human rights, we can gain a deeper understanding of the values that underpin our community and inform our actions.
